Hyatt Incline Village Lake Tahoe Wedding: Lauren and Greg!

I am so excited to share with you Lauren and Greg's Tahoe wedding! Thanks to 100 Layer Cake this was featured and chosen for the BEST OF 2012 for bridal bouquet and cake! Make sure to take a look at the stunning images from Annie McElwain and video from Medici Studios! The video is full of love and laughter! Don't you just want to eat up her Dad!?

Lauren and Greg are the PERFECT match. They balance each other out so perfectly. I saw it time and again in the year of planning together. I am thrilled to see them as a married couple and so wildly happy. 7.1.12 was a day that will go down in history for them. Greg had such raw emotion shown on his face all day.  They were in the moment, surrounded by warmth and filled with everyone's love.

The ceremony was held on the lawn in front of the stunning lake and mountains. It was set up in a semi circle as they wanted to feel enclosed by their loved ones. The cocktail hour followed in the upper lawn and was full of food, drinks and perfect weather. Guests then threw off the heals and walked across the beach into the lakeside ballroom. The reception was stunning and took the breath out of people when they walked into the room. Wood banquet tables with exquisite florals, white dance floor, stage and backdrop for the band, and details in each and every corner!

The toasts were so touching and a surprise special performance from their teenage cousin went down in the books for me as the most jaw dropping moment! Her voice and emotion was so pure and special! You can hear and see it in the video.

Thank you Lauren and Greg! Your friendship is treasured and I miss you guys. Congrats!

Outdoor Tahoe Rehearsal Dinner: Lauren and Greg!

First, I need to say that this is a 2 part post! Today we are highlighting the Hyatt Incline Village rehearsal dinner and tomorrow the amazing wedding of Lauren and Greg! So make sure to check back. Secondly, this post is so past due it saddens my heart. This wedding was a dream and so much fun to be a part of.  Who would not want to spend the weekend making a Tahoe dream wedding come to life.

Lauren and Greg had a HUGE crowd of people fly in from all over the world for their get-a-way wedding. They wanted to keep the logistics as simple as possible for all the out of town guests, so The Hyatt Resort in Incline Village was the post for the whole stay! Again, not a bad place to be for the 4th of July weekend. It is honestly one of my top 5 favorite places in the WORLD! Lauren, Greg and their families were so generous and hospitable with all their guests. Guests were treated to a welcome night, rehearsal dinner, wedding and brunch. The weekend was packed with fun, no stress, a ton of activities and stunning scenery.

Incline Village is really dear to Lauren and her families hearts as they vacationed every year with their huge and fun family. It was not hard to twist Greg's arm to join in on making Tahoe a special place in his heart either.

Take a peek at the pictures and video highlighting the picnic style dinner that ended with amazing toasts, warm smores and fireworks! Thank you: Annie McElwain Photography and Medici Studio

Welcome to the Before I Do Team: Alicia Strom

This post is WAY over due! We have been waiting on pictures from a past wedding of Alicia in "action" but we just cant wait any longer. The world must know about our amazing new hire. We are over the moon in love with Alicia. She has been the perfect balance of a hard worker, steady learner and well a bit of fun too! We feel so blessed to have had her intern for the last 6 months and now move to an assistant position. Alicia is in charge of all of our social media and new sales.

Meet Alicia:

~ Small town girl - with BIG dreams
~ Moved from Minnesota to Sunny San Diego right after graduating college
~ Is in love with a boy :)
~ She craves: sun, beaches, big cities, working withe people and fun - lots of it!
~ When she is not working she: runs, hikes, bikes, sails, paddles boards, does yoga and shops
~ A quote from Miss Alicia: "As a true romantic I love helping others celebrate some of the most important and memorable events in their lives."

Wedding Wednesday: Camarillo Ranch

Looking for a barn venue? Check out the Camarillo Ranch it has so much character and charm. On top of that the world is your oyster. You can bring in all the elements to make the event exactly as you please. The backdrop is pretty amazing and the pricing is great.  Plus who does not dream of a true "red barn" reception. I love the big beams and romantic lighting.

This is a perfect Southern California venue!

Vendor Love: Living Cinema

OMG! Hello dream land.  We get lost in the story and cinematography of Living Cinema. It is so traditional and classic. Full of romance and intrigue. There is no doubt a bit of romanticism surrounding film and the charm of its hand-made, craftsmanship-like process. "Film, unlike digital technology, does not rely on humans to interpret light in order to create an image. Film, at its core, is the most natural way to reproduce a moment; the light-sensitive elements produce an image that resonates with the human experience because it’s the same process our eyes use to take in our surroundings."

Which is exactly WHY it captured us the way it did.  I would kill to go back in time and have them film my wedding.  Make sure to take a look at some of their videos: http://www.livingcinema.net

Guest Blogger: Marissa Cool

Why save a white-themed wedding for the winter time when white can read fresh, simple, and modern year-a-round? As a stylist, the monochrome palette challenges the eye to play strongly with texture, size, and shape. The result, a crisp and effortlessly elegant look. When in doubt, white is right.

Tammi's Tips & Trends: Recycle Your Wedding Dress

First off, thanks for following Before I Do's blog! I am thrilled to be a part of this business and to finally say that I am doing what I love. We have so many exciting things in the works, we're growing FAST, and Michele and I are having a blast doing it all!  If you haven't noticed, we are putting a lot more effort into our social media and blogging this year! We love sharing our work and inspiration with you, and now I'll be adding weekly Tips & Trends to keep you up to speed on the latest and greatest ideas hitting the events world! Our new website is in the works, so stay tuned for that as well.

First up -- Recycle Your Wedding Dress.

Have you ever felt bad that your gorgeous wedding dress is just sitting in your closet? Would you feel weird putting it on again to prance around for a bit? Or are you a bridesmaid that has eight expensive bridesmaid's dresses in your closet that you really  won't wear again?

If you are not a bride who is saving their wedding dress in hopes their future daughter will wear it someday -- then Old New Borrowed Redo™ (ONBR) is a San Diego based company that has some fabulous ideas to turn your dresses into something you'll cherish (and use!) for years to come. They repurpose “one-time wear” dresses into custom keepsakes such as pillows, baby blankets, throw blankets, sachet bags and picture frames by adding additional fabric, embroidery, ruffle, piping and bows.

Prices start around $65 (for smaller items like a Ring Bearer pillow) and go up from there -- these ladies are talented, willing to work within a budget, and can customize just about anything! Check out their adorable site!

Enchanting Rustic Glam: Liz & Tim's Fairy Tale Wedding

Welcome to Liz and Tim's enchanting rustic glam wedding! Liz had dreamt of this day in her family's gorgeous backyard since her first time watching "Father of the Bride" -- the ultimate dream for so many ladies!

The Before I Do team had such a blast putting this wedding together. We thoroughly enjoyed the 8 months of planning with Liz and Tim. They are the sweetest couple with a rich and deep love story behind them.

The theme was RUSTIC GLAM which was just so much fun to dive into. Thanks to Annette Gomez, the floral elements were a perfect balance of just that. We incorporated incredible silver glitz linens from Wildflower Linens, with the rustic wood tables from Classic Party Rentals. There was not a detail missed or an area without special love and attention.

The ceremony was in the front yard so guests entered to see the stunning gazebo against the plush greenery. The vibe from the very start of the ceremony was warm, intimate and pure joy!

The guests started the evening in tears after hearing Liz's brother Andrew's touching sermon, and left damp from the mist of rain and sweat that accrued from the all-night dance party!

Behind the scenes, the "dream" of an at-home wedding is not always what it seems... although the weather reports were great for weeks in advance, when the day came, we were a bit panicked when hit by a serious threat of rain clouds. Thankfully the mist held off until the dance party started but that did not phase this group, in fact it created a special ambiance amongst the crowd that took the celebration to another level -- Liz and Tim were loving it! Who needs a shiny white dance floor when you can just dance on the tables instead! ;)

Cheers to you both. We love you and thank you again for letting us in on your big day!
Check out the stunning pics, thanks to the very talented Brandon Kidd...
